The Roy Moore episode [View all]

The race to fill Jeff Sessions' US Senate seat in Alabama is becoming more than just Dems vs Reps. It's god vs the devil.

According to Moore, both Republicans and the evil Democrats are against him. Why? Because Moore is a man of GAWD! Moore can quote scripture good about the righteous suffering the slings and arrows of ridicule when they stand up for god. Moore has gone on and on and on about how the US is circling the drain because "we kicked God out of our schools and our lives." (Psst! That's a GOOD thing, Roy!)

It's fascinating and nauseating to see all these good god-fearin' Christians sticking by the cradle-robbing Moore. A Republican pedophile is far preferable to any dirty Democrat, apparently. We know there is no depth to which they will not sink. No one is safe from their situational morality.

But, but, but, some cultures permit teenage brides as young as 12. (and we should emulate that?)

Oh, and how about that fool who compared Moore to a teenage Mary and adult Joseph, who produced Jesus? Hey, wasn't there something about an Immaculate Conception, or something?

I wonder how much bible-thumpers can get away with in this day and age?

Often, "god" is a bit of a subtext in politics but most don't wear it so brazenly. This election, well, you don't often get to watch a god vs. satan battle out in the open like this.

Embarrassing.
