Fortunately my city has a pretty tough solicitor's law. If you post a no-soliciting sign even the Jesus peddlers can't ring you. If they did, I would call the cops on them. So far none have tried. A least a few of the other cities around here have the same law, so if you live within a municipality you might check. If not you can always copy another city's law and start bugging your council members to approve it. It's really a great thing. It's pretty rare when a salesperson knocks on my door. Occasionally the shitbag roofers will swarm in after a big storm. I hand them a copy of the law, tell them I'm calling the cops, and shut the door. It's kinda funny to watch them run. I suspect many of them have warrants.
