Religion in the Comics - 46 [View all]

Here's a tale that takes some unexpected turns. It's from the 29th issue of Speed Comics, cover dated November 1943.








OK, to be fair, those mean Muslims at the start of the story were actually mean Nazis, but their behavior is familiar with what we know of Islamic societies. Kind of hard to believe that Nazis would try to impersonate Muslims. I don't think using masks is credible here. I also wonder if a Saudi Prince would give one of his daughters to an infidel to marry.

Here is what makes this story relevant to today:



I read an article that told of some soldiers witnessing abuse and rape in Iraq, and being told to not get involved.
