In reply to the discussion: Request for Prayers [View all]I have a similar condition. In my right eye (OD), an artery expanded to block a vein (a branch vein occlusion (BVO)). I was sent to a retina specialist, who first tried to fix the problem using laser surgery. He next started giving me shots. He said it usually takes about ten shots. It took many more shots in my case, but my condition eventually stabilized so that I no longer needed any shots.
My right eye remained stable for several years. A few years ago, the vitreous in my right eye detached. The vitreous is normally attached to the retina. When my vitreous detached. it pulled the retina away from the macula, which led to bleeding under the retina. I am again receiving shots, but the medication is much more effective than the medications that were available for my first round of shots.
