7. Believe it or not Norway has the lowest reoffender rate in all of Europe

To Americans their system sounds ridiculous because it is so much more lenient than ours, but their system actually works a lot better. Their reoffender rate is only 16% which is the lowest in Europe and far lower than the US. Instead of focusing on punishment they focus on rehabilitation, they treat the inmates like people in order to teach them how people should be treated and it works. They come out of prison better people than they went in.

I actually think Norway's system should be a model for the world to follow, it may seem crazy to some because it is so far different than what we are used to but it is also far more effective than what we are used to.
