8. Can a progressive win in TX?

I rather like Rep Crockett. She had me at “Bleached Blond Bad Built Butch Body”😸.


I am well to the left, not a moderate. But she seems like a dem who could win in Tx. I saw her describe herself as a “gun owning democrat.”

I could be wrong. I haven’t really followed Tx politics.

Full disclosure: I am not American as my profile indicates - just an environmentalist. Wouldn’t want Elon attacking DU after his creepy Twitter was found to be full of bots or people based in SA etc.

But you guys do have an impact on the whole world. Besides while I am well to the left, I am scared enough of PRC and Russia that I feel that a sane America would be good for the rest of us.

The US has impacted me personally a good deal since I went to school there - that’s how I joined DU. I still have ties in the country though I wouldn’t want those doxxing Doge types to find me or them. I am not resigned to that whether it’s probable or not since it’s myopic these days to think that the poor attention span of the net will translate on a long enough timeline to victory for the GOP and its technofascist allies who are proving every day that giving them enough rope guarantees they will hang themselves.

I am certain that even if the arc of history doesn’t precisely bend to justice -not without work anyway-it cannot possibly bend to permanent acceptance of Trump Hegseth levels of inanity. How much collateral damage these creeps inflict is another matter. But well..pushback is the only option with bullies and fascists.
