I've never ever ever

Seen a gun owner advocate for gun control other than removing howitzers from playgrounds sort of nonsense.

I have had hundreds of conversations over the years about guns and it's never happened. There's always an excuse that explains away why removing guns isn't the answer.

I am favor of universal background checks as long as they can be done in a non-intrusive manner, like opening NICS to private sales or issuing a firearms-purchase ID.

I favor safety training as a prerequisite to gun ownership, as long as it is convenient and not prohibitively expensive. I provide such training pro bono at local gun clubs.

So...

So ... you were saying?

As for the idea that all dangerous items are created equally - that's just silly. Saying a gun is as valuable to society as say an ambulance (handy for rushing children shot with gun to the hoslital) is obviously false. Yes both can cause harm, but if the main argument for ambulances was that you can use them to protect yourself from other ambulances well... You see my point.

Who ever said that "all dangerous items are created equally"? I didn't. I said that we as a society accept levels of risk in the interest of freedom. We do it all over the place with all sorts of things. But once again, you say "No -- because gunz!"

I'd love a constitutional amendment removing all guns from the public and from the police - except for swat type groups.

In other words, you have staked out the most extreme anti-gun position possible, and then you complain that gun owners "never ever ever" agree with you.

Poor you.
