4. I finally went directly to Experian website and the report was relatively short

as opposed to previous 30+ pages.

I do not throw away any financial document, including credit card statements. But decided to start throwing them away, some from 10 years ago! So I needed to check. If the accounts are still on their report - the statements should be shredded. Otherwise, tearing and throwing to the trash (where eventually would co-mingle with coffee grinds, mandarin peels etc..)

Also mortgage refinancing that has been paid, many legal pages but, watch out for Social Security numbers!
