Protesters descended on downtown Phoenix and the Arizona state Capitol on Saturday for the third night in a row to decry the recent deaths of black men at the hands of law enforcement.
The 5 p.m. protest started with demonstrators gathering outside Phoenix City Hall before marching to the Arizona state Capitol and back. The official protest ended shortly after 7 p.m., but demonstrators lingered in the streets of downtown Phoenix for hours. Most demonstrated peacefully, but others repeatedly clashed with police
In Scottsdale, dozens were seen looting and vandalizing stores throughout Scottsdale Fashion Square late into the night.
Protests continued nationwide on Saturday, days after former Minneapolis police Officer Derek Chauvin was arrested days after video circulated of him holding his knee to George Floyd's neck for more than eight minutes before Floyd died.
