(5,141 posts)The Supreme Court needs to make its decisions based upon the law with a strong eye on the rights of the People involved.
These decisions may not be popular and may not make the majority of the People happy but the Court is not there to be popular but to adjudicate the law(s) as they are written.
The main reason for this is to prevent the "tyranny of the majority".
And, for the most part and with a few exceptions, that is exactly what they accomplish.
Because they are human, they will make mistakes and errors in judgment and interpretation, as we live within this form of government with checks and balances, We the People should rely on the other branches to use their powers of "check and balance" to steer the ship back to the correct course.
