7. The whole "prude, moralist" thing is sick

Some civil-libertarian, privacy, sexual freedom, anti-moralism folks are highly principled.

Some are just arrested adolescents.

The Weiner case is really bringing some of the second type out of the woodwork.

Weiner really is the Lindsay Lohan of the Democratic Party. You don't ned to have an intrusive moralistic attitude toward alcohol to think that Ms. Lohan ought not be entrusted with much responsibility.

Weiner is free to do whatever he wants (until he gets arrested, because he will eventually send unsolicited Dick Pix to a twelve year-old unwittingly) but is plainly not the best person for a job of public trust.

That doesn't mean he is the worst person for a responsible job. But "not the worst" isn't the standard.

And the "private life" thing is hilarious. My private life is private precisely because my non-existant publicist hasn't sought out PEOPLE magazine to do a story "Inside cthulu2016's Private Life" to advance my political career. If your diseased marriage isn't news then your healthy marriage isn't news either. Duh.
