We have no legal authority over what happens to people once we deport them to another country.

Whether another country would want to keep them is an entirely different matter - but I don't think a country that says, "Oopsie… Too late." when planes heading to them don't turn around as ordered, is likely to want to play nicely with our courts, just because we ask nicely.
