White House says Medicaid portal will be back online shortly after Trump funding freeze blamed
I honestly think this was incompetence more than anything. Social Security and Medicare were explicitly exempted from the funding freeze. My bet is nobody in the Trump administration even considered the impact on Medicaid until people like Senator Wyden screamed about it, then they realized it was a PR disaster and quickly reversed course.
White House says Medicaid portal will be back online shortly after Trump funding freeze blamed
Medicaid reimbursement portals were down Tuesday in every U.S. state after the Trump administration ordered a freeze on federal grants and loans, a senator said.
But the White House later said it expected the systems to be back online shortly without any effect on payments.
White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt later wrote in a tweet, The White House is aware of the Medicaid website portal outage.
We have confirmed no payments have been affected they are still being processed and sent, Leavitt said. We expect the portal will be back online shortly.

I have to laugh at your satire about the gun. Even though the topic is horrendous.

Any loss of life/further medical complications should be laid at his feet. It can also devastate businesses.

Not as horrific as the loss of medical treatment, of course, but it will also cause unemployment to spike.

If that all shut down, there would be an uprising, including MAGA voters who would be affected.

Actually, Medicaid was specifically supposed to be exempted from the freeze as well.

I wouldn't rule that out, but given they announced ahead of time Medicaid would not be affected
