(106,399 posts)to create chaos in this country. Those same 51% include some merely too busy working multiple jobs to feed their families to seek out and follow accurate sources. They read what their friends, family, and neighbors post or favor on social media. (Or feel so confused and helpless that many in that group don't vote at all). That said, an estimated 150 million of the 250 million eligible voters actually were registered and could have voted. How many of those voted, I haven't seen accurate figures yet. But non-voting, low information or invalid information-receiving Americans are clearly the biggest problem. But we lost due to the actions of the much smaller, heavily lie-receiving 51% of voters.
So, in two single words, the cause is "LIES" and "APATHY."
