(59,549 posts)29. I didn't see it, and I've noticed those labels before. And other deepfakes of famous people have appeared
here without the altered content label. No one who replied earlier had mentioned seeing it, either. I didn't see it last night, when the video was called to my attention, or when I looked at it again before replying this morning, and I clicked on the video more than once in the OP. Didn't see the synthetic content label till after my own reply was there.
So I know YouTube isn't labeling all of them. They probably expect the YouTube user to label them.
FarPoint is complaining directly to YouTube and leaving the OP there for that reason, to show the confusion and harm caused. I told her earlier that she SHOULD leave the video there for that reason.

I've added a reply/update about this thread and that YouTube channel to my Community Help thread on deepfakes.

Just noticed the video now has an "Altered or synthetic content" label on it that wasn't on it earlier, but

That label wasn't there earlier. The YouTuber most likely saw responses - mine or others - identifying

It should be reported. Unfortunately, YouTube actively encourages their users to use AI tools. So you

That's safest. And there's actually an app now to block you from seeing internet content after 2023,

I agree. But since it can be hard to identify deepfakes, I wouldn't want alerts or posts being hidden, as with

I'm not trying to cause confusion. I'm explaining that I didn't see any synthetic-content label there
