Iowa Caucus from an Iowan

Hi fellow Pete supporters! I'm live from my dining room table in West Des Moines, Iowa! Like you, I'm dying to know the verified results of last night's caucus. What I can say is this...Pete exceeded expectations! In my precinct, Pete came in 1st, Warren 2nd, Sanders 3rd, Biden 4th. No one else was viable. The precinct caucus team was thrilled to say the least because at the end of the day, our only influence is in our individual precincts.

You are all aware that the votes cast are not in doubt. What we have is a reporting issue. We have a paper trail.

The amount of support that I have seen from my fellow Iowans, and some of the precinct numbers, lead me to believe that Pete won Iowa. I think it will be close though. Sanders does have a lot of support in highly populated areas, mainly in college towns. If Pete comes in a strong 2nd, I will still consider this a victory because he came out of nowhere. A year ago we were all scratching our heads wondering how to pronounce his name!

I have pics from yesterday but I'm not sure how to post them here. (I used to but I haven't posted much on the DU for years, although I've been a member forever.) I'll check the help area and see if I can figure it out. Pete came to our campaign office yesterday to fire us up for our final canvass shifts and it was a late night with his after caucus celebration.

I'm still running on the adrenaline from yesterday! I'm glad the caucus is over, to be honest. But I will miss the opportunity to see Pete as often as I have.
