(96,043 posts)64. Good Lord, Sir
You remind me of a probably apocryphal tale of a conversation between a sergeant and his battalion commander in one of the jungle columns of 'Merrill's Marauders' in Burma. The commander had observed there'd been no fighting for a couple of days, to which the sergeant is said to have replied 'Well, Sir, we could always cross the ridge there and attack 2nd Battalion.'
"When things are not called by their right names, what is said cannot make sense. When what is said does not make sense, what is planned cannot succeed. When plans do not succeed, people become uneasy. When people are uneasy, punishments do not fit crimes. When punishments do not fit crimes, people cannot know where to put hand or foot."

I'm glad to see that Joe is less provocative than some of his supporters

You are being vague. I identify as a progressive. I was very disappointed when she dropped out.

I think historically that is a good move to announce a VP choice before the primary ends
