Democratic Primaries

(5,582 posts)I could and do find fault with all of the folks we put up this time. One Dem will win with enough support to get around the suppression and I will support whoever it is as I stated. You are right about it eliciting negative responses and honestly it gets so bad that I don't even want to visit DU or Kos for example. A problem I didn't bother with, because as you said it would either be to deaf ears or be hammered, is the fact that the Democratic Party continually makes this plea to young people under 30 to "be involved and tell us what you want". Then when they do say "we want these kinds of things" the party and the old guard turn around and say "forget it but thanks for participating". Then we have to struggle to try to re-energize as many as we can to vote for what they had no enthusiasm for by reminding them how awful the alternatives are. I lived through it in the '60's with Vietnam, the draft etc. So many people forget or never really knew that the Democratic Party was not some bastion of assistance for people trying to end the draft or stop the war. A few to be sure were helpful but we had to fight both the GOP and the Democratic Party. That's the truth of things. Now having said all of this I have to say that I always have voted for Democrats. But I am realistic about how little or how much will actually change.
primary today, I would vote for: Undecided
