(22,854 posts)My point in the OP was exactly the opposite of your response. I wanted to hear from the other candidates and have an opportunity to vote for one of them.
Because of the drawn-out primary process, far too many voters do not get the chance to vote for their candidate if they live in a late-voting state.
Imagine if Buttigieg or Warren were on the ballot if everyone voted together! Do you think they would have had to drop out? Or would they have perhaps garnered enough votes to continue to the convention?
Upthread, someone pointed out that if the primaries were held on single day, that we'd have to have a run-off. Actually, we wouldn't. Let the candidates come to the convention with their votes and see what happens. Let the convention be the run-off. That would be something to watch and it would focus the party and its platform unlike anything we've seen before.
