The shift toward Schedule III would open the door for real clinical research, and that is why you keep seeing new medical uses pop up. Many of these conditions were hard to study under Schedule I rules. Now researchers can run controlled trials instead of relying on small case reports.

Most states already allow medical use, so patients are ahead of federal policy. As more data comes in you will probably see doctors use cannabinoids for a broader set of symptoms, especially where pain, inflammation or appetite issues are involved. Regulations still vary a lot, but the science is finally moving fast enough to show what cannabis can actually help with.
