Goran Dragic says FIBA World Cup game was fixed [View all]

Phoenix Suns guard Goran Dragic thinks all was not right in Thursday’s FIBA World Cup match between Angola and Australia.

Dragic plays for Slovenia, who handed Australia its only loss so far in Group D. Dragic’s complaint was this: Australia had already qualified out of the group stage, so there was no risk of not advancing. On top of that, a loss would guarantee Australia would miss out on possibly playing the United States in the quarterfinals.

Australia was favored, but played many of their backups and lost 91-83 to Angola. Dragic thinks that’s exactly what Australia wanted, and they lost on purpose.
