I remember Christopher Plummer in The Sound of Music. He did an excellent job of playing the role of the patriotic, jingoistic, nationalist Captain Von Trapp who worked for the Nazis, realized what the Nazis were up to and what they stood for, and became a changed and decent person. He really was quite believable in that role.
