Trump came at them with a hardline anti-free trade stance which was a position that was to the left of Hillary. Sadly, people are often too easily drawn to candidates who tell them what they want to hear mixed with "tough talk" which Trump did under his phony macho bravado persona he showed on the campaign trail. Never mind that this guy a rich jerk who had never shown any prior evidence that he gives a flying crap about the working class folk.
