Buddhists are not monks. They are normal people working, and playing, trying to protect their families, and be good people. Buddhist monks can teach, direct, and maybe become enlightened. Some monks are just not living their religion, just as some Christian, and other religious leader are not. Peculiarities and schizms in the Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) seem to foster the radical rightists in their ranks to demonize others and "otherness". That, and the fact that radical Islam is "enjoying" (?) a reawakening similar to what happened in Europe 5-7 hundred years ago, and here in America at various times. It doesn't help that Islam wrote in some special bonuses for people who kill the "other", and even Buddhist tire of the death and destruction that such things can cause. Christ's teaching may be good, but religion fucked it up. Buddha's teaching were excellent, but religion, again has muffed it. The Prophet's teaching just skipped the middle part. Down with religion.
