2. We help perpetuate superstition when we accept opinions as facts.

When someone says behavior x is wrong and behavior y is right, and it's stated as an objective truth, we can agree, which avoids conflict, but we're only perpetuating the myth that our opinions dictate reality. Confusing subjective thought with objective thought seems to be the heart of many religions.
