Hell, I've been having a bad year, and I have been an emotional wreck, so when I found out I'd be charged a transaction charge by Century Link to pay my bill with a credit/debit card (new policy started last week), I just blew up. Called customer service and have to admit I was uncool and used the F word. I was so pissed. I told her I was up all night the night before, unable to sleep because I was so frustrated and was trying to figure out how I could live without phone and internet, just to avoid paying this immoral usery charge, and you know what she said to me?
You need to find God.
I swear on a stack of blank paper...she proselytized me from her job as Century Link Customer Service.
I tried to get her to put a supervisor on the line. She wouldn't. I asked her to give me a different ref to talk to...she wouldn't. Said I had to call back (and go through the whole phone menu hell again). I wanted her ID so I could report her to Century Link, but she just left me hanging on an open line until I finally gave up and called back and talked to a different rep who was very kind and professional, in spite of my animosity.
He said there was no record of a rep talking to me just before his call. So I can only hope that this was one of those calls that was recorded by management.
She should be fired for trying to bring God into a discussion with a customer. Oh man was I pissed. I was upset when I first called, but I was absolutely enraged after talking to her.
