9. Yeah, you can tell how cheerful and happy they are

to be celebrating the birth of their Saviour, when they snarl "Merry CHRISTmas" at you. I've lived in Texas, worked retail there for a few years, and had it happen to me. I refused to mention any holidays to the customers, figured the best move was just to say, "Thank you for shopping here today," and leave off anything about any of the various holidays, but I still had some that were pissed that I didn't say "Merry Christmas" to them and they made sure I knew it.

A few years ago, some poor sod posted in GD about the experience of having someone say "Merry Christmas" in a very angry, nasty tone. Oh, was the love of Christ displayed abundantly in that thread. That poster was mercilessly ridiculed by a bunch of people who pretended to misunderstand what the poster had written. "Why are you so upset over a simple friendly greeting?" It was sickening.
