So let's be clear: Louis Gohmert thinks God has been protecting the U.S. all this time, but NOW will stop doing so? So God was cool with us when we were killing indigenous people, enslaving Africans, lynching them, segregating them, etc. -- God never withdrew "his protection" for any of THOSE things -- but NOW because of marriage equality, we're to be abandoned by that same God? Observation 1: Louis Gohmert is an idiot and unfit to make laws. Observation 2: If there is a God who actually thinks marriage equality is a bigger sin than slavery, genocide, lynching and racial oppression, that God is a stone asshole, and I say good riddance.
