Voters reject Christian-themed water park [View all]

There's a headline you don't often see in Texas.

Brazoria (Texas) voters on May 9 rejected a $1.75 million bond referendum that would have funded a Christian-themed water park. Brazoria is a town about 60 miles south of Houston.

It was a pretty small turnout in the town of only 3,000 people, but normally you would expect the fundies to turn out en masse. Instead, out of about 400 votes cast (yeah, about 15%), the referendum was rejected by a 70-30 margin.

I'll take those small wins any day.

Original is here.

You want a Christian-themed water park? Build it yourself and don't expect public money! Duh!
