We're invited to the Nat'l. Day of Prayer! [View all]

NOTE: Posted in the Atheists/Agnostics Group, a safe haven. You know the drill.

Well, I'm excited! What should I wear? The T-shirt with INFIDEL in Arabic and English on the front?

This is a local version of that useless "National Day of Prayer" event. Where everybody gathers to pray for "our natiion and its leaders."

As covered in one of the local papers, the invite is from the Chief Chaplain of the county Sheriff's Dept.:

"It's not just a Christian event," he said. "It's open to the public. People are welcome to come. There may be an atheist or agnostic, and we're glad for them to come too."

As a non-tailor, I'm not sure why I'd want to attend an event dedicated to praising the Emperor's new clothes.

Especially when the same guy who invited me goes on to say this:

"This brief time together...will offer everyone an opportunity to do their best work by praying together, bridging our small differences and connecting our mutual faith and hope in God."

Even the atheists, I guess.
