The burning cross symbolizes "bringing the light of Christ to the world."

Also, Scottish non-K clans used a burning cross to signal meetings. Or so I was told.

I grew up in a Kluxer area. They used to hold their rallies at a car racing track nearby.

Those idiots got the most attention for attacking blacks. But at least in my part of the South, they were also famous for attacking union organizers. Along with "trashy" white folks.

And good luck reporting their vigilante attacks to the local law. They were usually members.
