Clarendon, Texas [View all]

The wife and I recently took a week off from work and took a road trip. We drove through parts of Arkansas, Texas, New Mexico and Colorado. It's still hard to believe what's going on in Colorado!

We passed through Clarendon, Texas coming and going and were bemused to see a whole bunch of big crosses and religious signs by the road all over Clarendon. I vaguely remember back in 2012 when a Clarendon resident, Jim Griffin, put up all those signs and crosses all over town. The original story is here.

The editor of the local paper, being a good Christian himself, suggested they should be removed because they seemed to convey a "Christians only" attitude. He was immediately labeled a Satanist, or Satan himself, naturally. See that one here.

It's a little spooky passing thru a town with all these crosses. We vowed to not spend one dime in that town. It's very off-putting, but beyond that, it's funny to think that people can be so deluded that they decide to spend a ton of their own money to further the delusion.

Sure is good to be back home again to this hedonist mecca otherwise known as Houston.
