49. At the South Carolina DMV...

I was offered a choice of 2 free license plates:

1. Normal
2. IN GOD WE TRUST across the top of the plate.

I seriously thought about asking if they had "NO GOD" or "DON'T TRUST" option. But I was already immensely tired of dealing with the SC DMV, which is just as aggravating as the DMV anywhere. I didn't want to push my luck and get sent to the back of the line, again. "Now serving number 1,513,478..."

Off-topic Mom update: yesterday afternoon she yelled at me that a possum was on the front porch.

Huh? Lots of possums live around here, but they are nocturnal and avoid humans. They don't wander around in the afternoon visiting houses like marsupalian Jehovah's Witnesses.

Our visitor was a groundhog, not a possum. Yep, it was standing there on the front porch bold as could be. Like it was expecting to be invited in for dinner. Probably just woke up from hibernating and is hungry.

I walked around the property to make sure it isn't building a Groundhog Condo for the family. Those little bastards love to tunnel under buildings with concrete floors - giving their Condos a pre-fab roof to keep them nice and dry. And eventually collapsing the floor if they tunnel long enough.

Told Mom she had failed Wildlife 101. And after living most of her life out in the country, too.
