I took years of lessons and stopped when I graduated from high school. But I kept playing. Lately I started practicing nearly every day for two to three hours. It's amazing how much better you get when you practice.

I took up the violin as my second instrument. I was obsessed with that for fifteen years. I got burned out on it after I got as good as I thought I would ever get. But I never have thought that practicing was a chore. I've always enjoyed practicing.

As I said, I will never be as fast as these highly accomplished sons of bitches. But at least sixteenth notes are not a problem and five sharps or five flats are not a problem.
