Remember that deal he was making in PA to give every new registered voter $100? And recall how he paid canvassers to knock on doors and stand around malls to get new voter registrations? That's what this is, or at least part of it.
I watched a video of the Lancaster County DA telling about how the mess of votes Musk accumulated came in. They had gotten some, but then in August a whole new stack of 2400 registrations came in, of which many were fraudulent. Examples: Social Security numbers not matching people's names. Wrong addresses. Some voters had already been registered and a new registration with a different address came in.
I remember we all laughed about this because we could see how the canvassers would be taking advantage of Musk's money.
What then happened is that the Lancaster County DA announced an investigation. On her web site, there are two stories about the investigation, but they don't tell us anything about what she has found.
One might think this isn't relevant because Musk can always claim he'd been cheated by the canvassers. This probably isn't enough to get him arrested. And because the registrations were caught before they went into the system, there would be no vote fraud here.
I am thinking, however, that the investigation started 5 months ago and it's now been enough time that there should be some findings.
