3. friend's experience

I went to the show with two friends, and since they came in from another town, we decided to meet at the parking deck closest to the venue where Theresa was appearing.

The two friends are Jan and Linda. The three of us have worked together for over a decade. Prior to becoming a teacher, though, Linda was a criminologist in the state police lab. Her husband, who died last year, was a detective. Linda and her husband had been to about six of Theresa's appearances together, so he was quite familiar with them.

On the way to the deck, Linda was stopped by a police officer who told her she was driving with her lights off. Jan piped up, "She's married to a detective." This forced my friend to tell the officer that her husband had passed away last year. He said he was sorry and of course, no traffic ticket. Then they continued on to meet up with me.

We were in the auditorium and Theresa was doing a reading on the other side of the room. She said, "I am getting a badge or ID in a brown leather wallet. It has the the number 59 on it." My friend immediately nudged me and said, "That's his (her husband's) badge number and he carried it in a brown leather wallet!" My friend could not raise her hand to acknowledge this snippet of information, though, as Theresa tells everyone at the beginning that if she's reading one section of the room, to not raise a hand from another section.

I have quite a bit of experience in reading spirit messages, so when we were talking after the readings, I asked my friend if she thought the police stop and the badge mention were related. She said she thought so, and I certainly did. That would be so typical of someone in the "brotherhood of blue."

There was a woman two seats down from me. Everyone was very friendly and we were chatting. She had a photo of a child with her who she said was her nephew. When Theresa was by us, she picked up on the child's passing and talked about it for a moment. It wasn't a long, detailed reading, though, like some of the others.

As for me, I communicate with my crossed over beings routinely, so I didn't need Theresa. I wanted to see her help others who did, and did she ever. It was fascinating to watch her. She tells the audience at the beginning that she is able to communicate with "the dead" (I personally would not refer to it that way, but that's neither here nor there) and that it is very different from you and I talking, for example. It doesn't work like that.

The way it works is that she sees symbols and then puts the story together from the symbols. Sometimes it takes me a long time to get what they are saying, but just as many times I get it right away. It was the same with her. Sometimes she would get a message and put it together quickly, and at other times it took her longer and it was a struggle.
