Is there a good football reason the Lions stopped running after basically such good early success? I thought i would see it subside slowly after the Niners adjusted, but it seemed like the lions just up and decided to abandon it before the Niners adjusted for it. I know some coaches refuse to get comfortable continuing to do 'doing what works', but even before Ferrell got hurt in week 18, opponents would have film that shows running is more successful when he is not in the game. Just asking because I thought it was going to be a much longer day for SF than it turned out, after the initial Detroit scores.
