2. No one will ever make a Willie Mays catch...period. the parks aren't big enough.

The polo grounds catch was made near the 483 foot mark. In every ball park, even the thin air of Coors Field, that ball is a home run. In most parks that ball is in the second deck or higher of the stadium.

He ran farther than any center fielder could run today, caught the ball, and threw to prevent the Indians from scoring.

Members of the Indians said they knew they had no chance if Mays could get to that and throw it back before they could score. They said the catch broke their belief they could win.

No one, ever, no one will make that catch and the recency bias of sports center and top plays has done Willie Mays crushing of the Cleveland Indians hearts a great injustice.
