Could be new and tight or old and sloppy.
Could be hydraulic, cable or shaft controlled.
Had a motorcycle with a shifter that stuck out on the left..
You had to quickly reach for it and get back on the handlebars
as you accelerated.
Meanwhile shooting flames out the pipes.
No wonder it was called Suicide Shift.
