second car. Barely 16,000 miles.

Consumer Reports did not have enough words to praise it at the time.

Fast forward to CR car issue of this year. In the used cars section the only Kia Soul to avoid is... 2014.

About a gas gauge: more than 60 years ago my dad bought a 1956 VW beetle. The only one that he could afford. It did not have a fuel gauge! So on occasions he would stick a yardstick to look at the level of fuel. A classmate one asked me whether it wouldn't be easier to repair the gauge and I replied that there was none.

That car also had the battery on the floor behind the passenger seat and slowly rusted the floor..

Somehow, I suppose, someone was interested in buying it from us..
