Never forget that the USSR defeated Hitler.

90% of German casualties were on the Eastern Front. The Soviet Union lost 20 million people. Hitler called Slavs "Untermenschen", subhumans, and tried to exterminate them for "Lebensraum" for Aryans. A massive holocaust.

We sent them hardware. They spared us lives. I say this as a son of a US WWII vet.

This is one of the real, historical events within living memory that allows someone like Putin to exploit emotions.
