For an effort at transparency or honesty, call it what you will, I am a son of a Mexican immigrant, a lady who came with her proper credentials & documents, who got her "green card," and who eventually became a US citizen.

So, I suppose you might consider me, or some at least would consider me "Hispanic" or "Mexican-American." I am also a "heritage" speaker of Spanish, fluent in both Mexican & Castilian (castellano) Spanish.

I am new to this forum; please excuse me, but what do you call "trumpeting" that a person is or claims to be minority? Just curious. Thank you.

May I ask what is your ethnicity or racial affiliation or self-identity? This would help me understand maybe, where you are coming from. Thanks again.
