I recently read The Postmortal by Drew Magary. In it a "cure" for aging is accidentally discovered and eventually most people in the world take it. The consequences are dire. With no one dying, for the most part, and people continuing to have children, population numbers careen out of control. Environmental degradation is dire.

It's an excellent cautionary tale.
