5. I believe the style pictured becomes dirty too easily, in the sides along the middle hole.

There is another style, perhaps more cumbersome but better in the long run, that is more like a chair fitted over the commode.
The style I'm speaking of usually has feet that reach to the floor, as well as side handles for pushing oneself up when finished.

We had higher toilets put in our two bathrooms, along with grab bars where needed and possible. There are persons available who know the correct heights and angles for grab bars.

The toilet seat of which I speak was used by my spouse when he had trouble walking independently, and were removed when he entered long-term care.
