And pretty pricey, too.
'Air conditioning' was an open window.
Which you had to crank down BY HAND!

Our electronic entertainment was radio.
It was kind of like TV, but without the picture.
You had to use your imagination.

BTW, one of the most popular shows was "Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy".
Bergen was a ventriloquist and Charlie was his dummy.
Think about it.
A ventriloquist.
On the radio.
You couldn't see him.
How hard is THAT?
