4. My story/joke is not longer funny becasue only oldsters understand it.

In 1994 when my granddaughter asked me to bring her the phone and I said I couldn't, she asked "Why". I said "Because the cord isn't long enough." She paused and asked "Why does it have a cord?" That was when I realized that her generation may not have seen or used what we used to consider "standard" phones.

It's no longer funny because hardly anyone has them any longer and anyone under 40 may not have ever seen or used them.
