I agree with you lbob. I suspect aarp spends the bulk of membership fees on relentless mass mailings for membership than actively lobbying for the "arbitrary" over 50 population. It could be a powerful lobbying group but I suspect cuts deals with retailers for ridiculous no value added discounts. I am not retired. I am over 50 and want to work but age discrimination is rampant in all industries and the laws are paper tigers. I would like to see petitioning to add age to affirmative action mandates. This request after numerous emails and snail mail goes unresponded to. I could go on...
