4. She's from the Outer Hebrides up on the Isle of Lewis...a small 12-14 house town just north of Stornoway.

Her maiden name is MacLeod if I’m not mistaken, a rather substantial highland clan.

She left Stornoway, as did many women of her age (including my grandmother), in the years after WWI. The Iolaire was a troop ship bringing home a very large group of soldiers in the waning days of the war. It sunk about a mile off the coast, killing the 200 or so young men and skewing the island’s demographics irreparably for decades, causing many women wanting a family to leave for greener pastures during the late 20’s and early 30’s.
