3. This Navy tin can sailor veteran salutes the crews of the Raleigh Burke and the Carney..

I spent a week at General Quarters on the USS Sampson off the coast of Lebanon during the six day war in '67, not knowing it would be only six days, or what our involvement would be.

We were not then involved, but I had a chance to see how sharp and prepared my shipmates were in their training and skill. The sailors on the Raleigh Burke and the Carney would be equally prepared and able.
