2. Is it me, or does this paragraph make anybody else's head hurt?

An "originalist Supreme Court", of course, isn't going to go with other precedents. They are going to find in accordance with original intent, thus, "originalist". Water is wet, well, because it's wet. Duh. "People" means individuals, "Arms", firearms, etc. Militiamen were required to keep personal arms available in case they were needed quickly. And, I bet, the guy that showed up with a 15th century matchlock would have been told to get with the program, and get a "modern" arm. And "bear"? Tell me that "bear" means something other than "carry".
